A Guide to a Fun & Fabulous Las Vegas Family Vacation

Most of us go to Las Vegas when we’re young, single, free of responsibilities. But let’s be real, you’re here on my blog because those nights when you danced your bum away are long gone. I know you know about the clubs, the bars, shows, and the restaurants. But now that you’re a parent like me, you’re looking for kid friendly activities you can enjoy while you’re in Las Vegas. And don’t worry, I got you! We recently spent a whole week enjoying our Las Vegas family vacation, and we all had a blast. We took the grandparents so we were able to sneak out for some much needed adult fun and entertainment, but for the most part our week was filled with kid friendly activities. Here are five family friendly activities you didn’t know you could do in Las Vegas.

The Mandalay Bay Aquarium

Okay, so let me be honest with you. I knew this aquarium existed before I had kids, but I had ZERO interest in going. But, we finally decided to pay the Mandalay Bay Aquarium a visit on our most recent trip and it was pretty cool! They had a good variety of sea creatures and the exhibition was much larger than we had anticipated. There were also super cool activities like swimming with sharks, which neither of us were brave enough to sign up for. We also got there around opening time so we were able to snap some awesome photos without having to worry about crowds.

Las Vegas has Some Great Arcades

I had no idea there were arcades in the hotels on the strip. We’d stayed in at least 3 different hotels before, but had never taken the girls with us, and this last time I was blown away to find out there were arcades in almost all of the hotels. Trust me, I would have spent more money playing skeeball than on slot machines had I known this was a thing. And you can drink there too! Anyway, back to the kid friendly, the arcades are pretty big and the prices are similar to the ones here in Los Angeles.

Cool Museums

One of our favorite stops in Las Vegas was visiting The Neon Museum. It is a graveyard of the iconic signs that adorned the Las Vegas strip throughout the years. It’s not a huge museum, but it is nice to take a stroll through iconic signs like the Moulin Rouge sign. This museum makes for great photo ops for everyone in the family.

Indoor Climbing, Perfect for Energetic Kids

We found a super cool indoor climbing gym in the shopping center where the famed Sugar Fix restaurant is located. This activity is perfect for kids and adults who love a good thrill and aren’t afraid of heights. For this you’re wearing a full harness as you climb through various levels of tight ropes and gliders to get to the top.

Expos & Exhibitions

During our vacation we were able to find quite a bit of family friendly activities, but one of our favorites was the Marvel Avengers STATION. This is an 8,000 square foot exhibit of your favorite Avengers. In it you can see some of the gear used in the movies along with interactive games throughout the maze. You can get close and personal with the various Ironman costume designs. At the end of the exhibit you can make a quick stop at the shop where you can find collectibles and other exclusive Marvel Avengers Merch. This one was a fun activity for both the kids and the adults.

Give Vegas a Try

It’s true, Vegas will never be the same after you have kids, but I do recommend you give it a go with your family. There are lots of activities on and off the strip that you and your family can enjoy, so don’t fret if you can’t find a sitter in time for your Vegas trip. There will be more than enough entertainment for you and the kids during your Las Vegas family vacation.
