Summer Mom-cation
Well this year has been one with many “firsts” for me. I boarded an airplane for the first time, took a week long vacation just my husband and I, started this blog, and I even took my very first mom-cation. Yup, after 3 kids I finally went on a girls trip.
I was quite hesitant about taking this trip especially since it was to Cabo, but it was amazing. Me and three of my best girl friends decided to take this trip to get some very much needed “me time”.
We stayed at this beautiful resort about 45 minutes away from the airport, Grand Fiesta Americana. The resort had it’s own private beach and a sweet golf course our husband’s would have loved. (Next time fella’s.) It had multiple pools, one of them being a beautiful infinity pool with gorgeous ocean views. The resort was beautiful and to add to it’s beauty it was all inclusive! And you could get a drink or meal regardless of if you were pool side or on the beach.
There were multiple restaurants on the resort that served delicious food. If you felt like sushi, pasta, or tacos, whatever it was, there was a restaurant for it. There was also a night club. My opinion might not be be worth much on this because I don’t go out much, especially not clubbing! But, my friends and I had a great time dancing the night away. I think that was one of my favorite parts of this mom-cation. Just being able to let loose and shake my caboose without a care in the world surrounded by some of my favorite women. (ha! I said caboose)
I’m not going to lie though, by the last day we were missing our families like crazy. Anytime we would see something cool or eat something delicious we’d find ourselves saying “Oh the kids would love this!” Especially when we went into the ocean, the water was so clear that you could see all the beautiful fish around you! Yea, my kids would have LOVED that! Next time kids..
But anyway, it was nice taking a moment to breathe. It was even nicer being catered to for a change. Three days of not having to get out of bed to cook breakfast, change diapers, pick up toys, grab a snack, pick up toys, wipe up spilled milk, making lunch, picking up toys again, giving baths, prepping dinner, more snacks, rock the baby, laundry, sweeping, mopping, dishes, more laundry, and more diapers. I had three days in paradise while being catered to, bottomless margaritas, and all with some pretty cool beautiful ladies.
I would totally do it again, but I am also super excited about taking family vacations together once the babies are a little older.
