Super Easy My Hero Academia Birthday Party Ideas

This year my daughter turned 10 years old, and for her birthday party she chose nothing other than her current anime obsession, My Hero Academia. We binge watched the entire series and I’m happy to report that, it’s pretty dang good. It’s definitely in my top five. Sorry, getting side tracked here. Anyway, as excited as I was about her theme choice, I knew my options would be limited in terms of decorating and all that fun stuff, but I had to make it work. Here are some cheap and easy My Hero Academia birthday party ideas for your next anime party.

My Hero Academia Color Schemes

So instead of fixating on character banners and pinatas, I focused on color schemes. My daughter’s favorite character is All Might, the incredibly cool super hero guy who all the kids in the MHA universe aspire to be. So, I of course had to make the main colors red, blue, and yellow, since those are the colors on All Might’s super hero suit.

Our Custom My Hero Academia Piñatas

For every birthday party, my parents take a trip down to Mexico to buy our daughter’s piñatas. However, I knew that finding an MHA piñata was going to be pretty challenging, and I was right. So instead we opted for traditional star piñatas that we could later customize with images of our favorite My Hero Academia characters.

For the first pinata we settled for a blue and yellow one, that we pasted All Mights picture on. We trimmed back the streamers from the cones and used it to frame the picture we glued onto it.

For the second pinata we went with orange & black colors and added a picture of Deku on one side and Bakugo on the other. And we did the same thing, trimmed up the streamers on the cones and used it to frame the images we glued on. And I mean they turned out pretty good if you ask me!

Cheap & Easy My Hero Academia Centerpiece Idea

At the time of my party planning I couldn’t find many MHA party decorations, but I did find this MHA Birthday Party Decoration Set on Amazon. It had everything I needed to make the whole thing come together. I used the cake topper pieces in this kit to create our MHA centerpieces, along with these little starred balloon weights I found at Dollar Tree. Luckily Dollar Tree had them in every color I needed, gold, blue, and red. Perfect! I glued three little cake topper pieces from the amazon kit onto each of these balloon weights!! And tada,  My Hero Academia birthday party centerpiece!

Easy Dollar Store Balloon Clusters

At Dollar Tree I also found strips to make balloon clusters. These little strips were super helpful since I’m not a pro when it comes to balloon garlands or arches. I bought a pack of solid black balloons to make our balloon clusters. Then I added a couple of the character balloons in between to add pops of color and to stay on theme. I used the balloons that were included in the MHA Birthday Decoration Set from Amazon. And, since I had a few extra balloons we inflated a few with helium and added them to the centerpieces, but you could even tie them to the goody bags, or next to the cake table and that would look cool too!

My Hero Academia Favor Bag Ideas

These MHA favor bags are my pride and joy. Though I struggled to find MHA party decor, I did find the best birthday party favor for this. I found an officially licensed My Hero Academia Blind Box set that made for the perfect favor. We purchased 3 boxes of 12, and were able to collect all 5 from the series & the rest were used as party favors for our guests. It was a hit! All the kids loved them and ended up swapping them amongst themselves like trading cards.

The Famous & Hilarious My Hero Academia Cake Idea

We typically have a full house, we’re talking over 50 people, so we always go with a half sheet of cake. This puts a limit on how we can decorate the cake. However, this didn’t stop us from customizing it. We asked our bakery to print an image of one of the funniest scenes from MHA. It’s a picture of Young Midoriya mocking All Might with the words “Eat This”. My daughter thought it was so funny and kept showing it to her friends.

Side note: Did you know you could walk into most bakery’s and ask them to add a custom image onto your cake? I had no idea! We order our cakes from the same bakery every year and until this year, I had no idea they could do that. So if you have a bakery you love it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
