Not so spooky Halloween movies for the whole family

What better way than to get into the Halloween Spirit than by watching Halloween movies with the whole family? But not so spooky movies, so that the kids still go to sleep and don’t wake you up in the middle of the night because of some nightmare they had.

Anyway, one of our favorite things to do as a family is cuddling up on the couch to binge not so scary movies with the girls. Throw in some popcorn, candy, hot cocoa, and itโ€™s the perfect evening.

Here is a list of our favorite not so spooky Halloween movies.

The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad:  This is a classic and I had never seen or heard of it until about 6 years ago when we started this spooky movie tradition. I know, my husband was pretty shocked too. It’s on Disney Plus

Mickeyโ€™s House of Mouse Villains: This is another classic and very popular with the littles. You can find it on VUDU

Nightmare Before Christmas: We watch this movie on Halloween and on Christmas Eve. Itโ€™s one of the few Disney movies I grew up watching and it is still a family favorite. It’s on Disney Plus.

Monster House: This movie is just as funny to kids as it is to adults. It’s on Vudu

Hocus Pocus: A must watch classic. My daughters love it too. It’s on Disney Plus.

Hotel Transylvania: Our girls love all 3, but I only really like 1 and 2. They’re on Vudu.

Itโ€™s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown: This is a cute classic and a must for our family. All my girls have loved it especially when they were toddlers. Vudu

Ghost Busters: My girls first watched this when they were 6 & 4 years old and it continues to be a favorite around here. They are fans of all the Ghost Buster movies. Vudu & Amazon Prime Video

The Little Vampire: This was one of my favorite movies growing up and this year will be the first time my daughters watch it. I really hope it becomes a family favorite. It’s on Vudu.

The Haunted Mansion: Classic! It’s on Disney Plus

The Adams Family: We love this movie, never gets old. We watch it every fall. It’s on Netflix.

Adams Family Values: Also a must watch. This one is on VUDU.

The Adams Family (2019): The original movies are still my favorite, but the girls love this one. Also on Vudu.

Coraline: This is good, this might have scared my daughters more than Ghost Busters ever did. They found this story a lot scarier, but they love the movie.  Found it on Vudu & Amazon Prime Video.

Harry Potter and the Sorcererโ€™s Stone: Not going to lie. I watch Harry Potter year round, but the movie is even better during the fall. The entire collection is on HBO Max.

The Witches: This movie is a little scarier, but the girls didnโ€™t seem to be impressed. They watched it at age 7 & 5. Found this gem on Netflix.

Beetlejuice: One of our favorite movies! The girls watched this when they were 6 & 4 and they loved the movie. It’s on VUDU & Amazon Prime Video.

Goosebumps: All things Goosebumps! We love the series, and the movies. This is definitely one of the girls favorite Halloween movies. Goosebumps 1 is on VUDU & Amazon Prime Video. Goosebumps 2 and the series seasons 1-5 are on Netflix.

Scooby Doo: This should be considered a classic. We do not go one Halloween without watching these not so spooky movies. They’re all on VUDU

Scoob: The girls love Scooby Doo, so of course the new Scoob movie will be added to the list of not so spooky movies. VUDU

Hope you enjoy all the movie nights this October!
