Life Update- What I’ve been up to the last few months

Hi everyone! I hope you and your families are holding up okay. The last year has been a rollercoaster to say the least. Enduring a global pandemic was not something I ever saw coming and definitely was not on my bucket list.

It has been a couple of months since I published anything here and before that last blog post it had been months since I last spoke to you. Sorry for the neglect, most of 2020 was not easy on my mental health, and I’m sure many of you can relate. But I really missed blogging and connecting with you all. I am super excited to be back. Thank you to those who have stuck around and to any new readers, hi! I’m super excited to get to know you!

A Quick Recap

After I share what I’ve been up to, I would love for you to share, in the comments, what you have been up to the last couple of months. It would be nice to catch up with you.

  1. I graduated college! Yup, this mama got her Bachelor of Science in Business and Marketing! Not bad for a daughter of immigrants.
  1. We moved! We’re still in Los Angeles County, but went from Santa Clarita to Pomona.
  1. We bought our first house! I seriously still can’t believe we’re homeowners!
  1. My husband got the promotion he had been working so hard to get! He’s now part of the research and development team for the engineering department of the aerospace company he works with. So proud of this man!

5. And last but definitely not least, I got my first job out of college. Best of all it is with a company I am excited to work with, it is fully remote, and they’re allowing me to work on my own schedule. This stay at home mom couldn’t be happier.

Why haven’t I been posting?

Well, to be honest I needed to come up for air and sort some thoughts out. The world got really heavy in 2020. And personally, though we are better now, at the beginning we lost income, my mother’s side lost family members to Covid-19, and social and political issues took a toll on my mental health. Fortunately for us we are doing better, but there are so many families out there who are struggling and suffered far worse losses than us. And part of me felt guilty for sharing all the positive things that were lining up for my family and I while I know so many people are suffering. All of these things led me to not celebrate my wins and joyous moments. For example, I graduated in March of 2020, and didn’t share it publicly until September 2020. But the world needs a balance.

But you see, after a lot of thinking I came to the conclusion that we need to see both the good and the bad things in the world. If we focus on just the awful things happening in the world, we lose hope, we lose ourselves in that feeling of despair and helplessness. I’m not saying ignore the awful, stay aware and do your part, but don’t dwell on it. We need to balance it out for the sake of keeping our souls alive, and to have something to hold on to. So, sharing our good things and our wins, might actually help give someone else a little bit of hope to keep on going.

What is next?

I don’t know what life has in store for me, but I know what I have in store for this blog. I am back and ready to write and chat with you! Not only will I be posting new blogs weekly, but I have also set up my newsletter! Some of the blog posts coming are “My home reveal”, “C-section awareness month, my experience”, “Our first home DIY- the entry closet “! If you sign up for my newsletter, you will receive updates on my favorite things for the month, like sales and deals I’m sure you’ll love, shows, movies, and any other tea I have to spill.

I am super excited to be back! Remember, listen to your body, it is fine if you need a mental health break. You need to take care of yourself so you can take care of others.

Again, thank you so much for reading my blog, if you haven’t already, please follow me on Instagram and Pinterest and subscribe to my newsletter. Don’t forget to tell me what you’ve been up to in the comments! See you all next week!
